<P>The most successful iPhone apps don’t get where they are simply because they offer an innovative functionality that has not yet been seen. Truly successful iPhone apps are a combination of careful consulting, superior strategy, excellent software development, and an aggressive marketing plan. My company, Appiction, ensures the success of an iPhone app before the development process even begins because we go through several strategy consultations with our clients. During these sessions, we develop a very clear vision of what the new app should both do and ultimately be. We make sure to communicate our vision with the client through additional consultations so that we can all reach an agreement on what needs to be done before the next step.</P>

<P>Despite what you think the new smartphones and smartphone applications are capable of, your mind will change dramatically when you use them in your daily life. We have come a long way since the introduction of the first PDAs and comparatively simple Blackberry devices of the ’90s. New estimates of smartphone usage suggest that the platform is growing faster than the internet grew when it was first introduced. Smartphones can do so much for us when we are on the go, or in between other tasks, that it’s no wonder so many people are beginning to realize that the smartphone isn’t just for over-caffeinated businessmen anymore.</P>
<P>Just as the internet has become a source of revenue for some enterprising individuals, we expect the same to happen with smartphones. Many people are realizing that specialized smartphone apps can help them to do their jobs more effectively and from more places than they had ever imagined. Realtors can show listings to their clients while on the run, and managers can keep track of inventory when they’re shuttling from one meeting to the next. If we were to continue with the internet platform analogy, we would recognize that many people lose out on a significant source of revenue if they do not involve the internet in their business plan. The same will be the case with smartphones in the near future. So many people are joining the platform at such a quick speed because they can already see how today’s smartphones will help them earn more money more effectively. If the estimates are true, we are bound to see a boon in smartphone application development.</P></DIV>
