The new Android smart phone from Motorola packs not only some very impressive functions provided by the Google OS, but also has the social networking and web access capabilities of the MOTOBLUR system. Of course, its biggest highlight is the new backflipping phone function.

The reverse flipping Motorola Backflip may seem a little eccentric at first, but the design is both highly ergonomic and functional. Just looking at the device may not be enough; one would have to try it out to see how it really feel in the hands. Flipping open the device comes in one smooth easy motion and figuring out how to hold it comes intuitively. Best of all, thanks to the phone’s unique design, it can stand on its own as a media player or even as your desktop alarm clock.

A Look at the Android OS

The Android operating system from Google is considered to be one of the most flexible operating systems ever released. From a developer’s standpoint, it means that the entire OS is accessible and easy to develop applications for. This is a big advantage for end users like us since this is a promise of more apps that encompass a greater degree of phone functionality.

Even better is that the Android is also heavily focused on customizability options. Users get to set all the settings ranging from aesthetics to functions. Users can set the type of services and data features that the phone can have. The home screen is fully customizable and users can even determine if they want to enable phone functions such as GPS. Also, as an operating developed by Google, the Android comes with mobile applications for many Google web services such as Google Mail, Google Talk, Google Maps and more.

Connect and be Secure with the MOTOBLUR

The MOTOBLUR online service from Motorola not only keeps you in touch, but also secures all your contact info and data such as your settings and feeds. Simply go online to the MOTOBLUR website to create an account, this main account will you to link together your Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other networking accounts into MOTOBLUR.

With one single account, you have a consolidated address book of all your friends and contacts. The home screen for the service is also fully customizable and you can move, slice and edit the contents in any way you want. Place the latest Twitter Tweets or the newest status updates from Facebook; anything you want, anyway you want. This level of customization is possible thanks to this impressive new service from Motorola. Lastly, MOTOBLUR also backs up all your friends and feeds data regularly.

CNET’s Best of CES 2010

When the Motorola Backflip appeared on the floor of the Consumer Electronics Show held at Vegas early this January, CNET recognized the device’s potential and market value –awarding it with the fifth annual Best of CES award. The Backflip was cited for its use of the MOTOBLUR social networking service, the innovative Backtrack navigation pad and its innovative design.
