App Store are booming, but may not be enough demand to fill them all.

Google, Apple and Facebook have soft markets for their respective platforms and more companies are preparing to launch their own stores. With its shops, large technology companies to help small developers reach a larger audience.

But beyond the big retailers, located as an application from the App Store or Google Android Market, the rivals will be able to find software developers willing to custom tailor their systems? And the consumer will only enough to see their catalogs?

Even in space hot smartphone app are the manufacturers of the most used platforms struggling to attract developers.

Nokia and BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, the two smart phone platforms behind others in attracting new software. Each has less than a tenth the number of applications in the Android store second and much less than Apple, which has more than 300,000.

His phone Windows 7, Microsoft will pay for some developers and hardware offered for free to attract them to build applications. However, the most important developments such as Jack Dorsey, co-founder of the square, and Twitter, saying that taking a “wait and see” approach.

Gowalla, the location-based networking service, says that only focuses on some of the most popular platform for applications. the company’s resources are limited, and developers to find less well-known experts platforms is difficult, Gowalla Chief Technology Officer of Raymond Scott said.

Mozilla and Opera Software makers are working all the stores could tie into the browser app for desktop and mobile. Mozilla Labs, the research and development arm of the company has worked with the framework for desktop and mobile phone covers Firefox.

“I believe very strongly that we are at the beginning of a great explosion of this,” Mozilla Labs director Pascal Finet said recently. “Before iStore, there was no concept of an application 99 percent -. And kudos to Apple “

Mozilla’s plan is to create a system to sell powerful applications that work in browsers on most platforms. “You must have an underlying architecture, plumbing, do it all,” said Finet.

“What we would like to offer is a simple technology that supports multiple stores,” said vice-president of Mozilla product Jay Sullivan in an interview. He described the concept as a “mall” in the App Store.

Google Chrome Store has recently opened a free listing or low cost “web applications” that are distinct from the sites, except that a button is installed on the home page of your browser. Early users say they are puzzled as to why this much-touted feature seems to be nothing more than a new way to create bookmarks for web pages.

The shop organizes what exists and is aimed at helping people to discover the applications through systems of classification and search, according to Google. This is supposed to simplify this process, especially for owners of netbooks, still in its infancy run Google Chrome OS.

Online retailers are traditionally recorded in the installation of third-party payment platforms or infrastructure of payments on their websites. But PayPal, a payment provider, plans to launch an application store of its own next year. Web and mobile applications could soon find, buy, and in some cases, used by PayPal.com.

Google has a break in the applications that are sold in the web shop, as it did for the Android smartphone market, which has 130,000 applications. App Store owners Verizon, Amazon and others will soon join the official Google Android Market. Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC is also weighing the opening of an application store, according to a report in the Financial Times.

Apple launched the lucrative business of selling software in a central store of the iPhone App Store Commissioner. (Mobile applications are very popular because they can do more with the unique hardware features of the smartphone to a web site can.) Apple is planning to extend this idea to their laptops and desktop computers on 6 January when the tape is cut Mac App Store

Acer, a global manufacturer of PCs in the second place, said it plans to launch a store of “new generation” of applications.

Despite these shops can be rewarding for those who run it, there are concerns that customers can get pushed to applications generally expensive because high performance for shop owners.

“I do not know if we need it,” Christa Quarles, Chief Financial Officer of the game The Walt Disney Company Playdom said store application at a conference last month. “What is an App Store on its heart? This is a search engine.”

“The search engine is biased against anything that pays when the company that manages the system’s benefits from applications paid, Quarles said.

And it is still unknown whether the influx of these storefronts app will move the social media and other channels as the primary means of most people discover new pages.

Challenges to convince developers to list – and in many cases to pay membership dues and fees from the sale – is even greater when the platform providers, such as Facebook, Mozilla and many other ask them to integrate proprietary code.

Yahoo CTO Raymi Stata refers to his company’s app for a forum held recently in a fireplace chat, says the project is “not known”.

If the developer to jump through hoops and follow the instructions on Yahoo, could reach about 134 million visitors to Yahoo’s home page and other features that compete with the traffic data. Although Yahoo coveted numbers, the company has struggled to attract developers to its platforms.

Priorities for Facebook, “says CEO Mark Zuckerberg, its platform. The company is now extending further into smartphones, the gap between mobile and fixed.

Quickly combine the two areas, and the Web may be the point of collision, Jim Lanzone, CEO of producer Clicker app video, said the conference recently.

“We need applications because browsers have been very difficult to navigate,” he said. “Browsers and applications are beginning to merge.”

The number of application stores incubation and young people seems to increase every week. We will know soon if there is enough virtual inventory and customers of these stores to survive.
