Where HTC released the Legend and Samsung the Wave, Sony Ericsson gives us the Xperia X10. The X10 delivers a well thought out package of entertainment, communications and connectivity. Its 4 inch capacitive touch screen works fluidly with the user interface for flawless movement in and around the phones various applications and functions and he device houses an 8.1 mega pixel digital camera.

The new TimeScape overlay on the X10 is marvellous, brilliant and awesome! TimeScape features an intuitive communications zone which gathers together apps like Facebook and Twitter, e-mails and messaging, calls and other forms of contact and neatly orders them into a stack for a full overview of happenings in your social circles, this saves you time and effort, it means you don’t have to enter multiple applications to keep in touch with contacts and view various status updates and tweets.

MediaScape is very similar to TimeScape only it groups together all of your multimedia and entertainment applications like the music player and photo gallery for quick organised viewing and sorting. Generally the multimedia players on Sony Ericsson’s are pretty good, well the X10′s is brilliant with an intelligent UI giving you good feed back as you progress through the basic controls and there is a variety of equaliser controls for to play with and perfect your own sound. The X10 can playback a range of different file types including mp3 and wma and sound clarity is of a high quality and is carried through both the phones speakers and via the 3.5mm jack to your favourite headphones.

The Xperia X10 is well supported with an 8.1 mega pixel and it is capable of capturing video at about 24fps. Many file formats can be handled with mp4 covered of course; the video playback quality is immense on the WVGA resolution screen. The phone also has video streaming and video sharing capabilities with YouTube integration and upload links to sites like Facebook. The phone has an expandable memory for extra storage, it can handle anything up to 32GB via the microSD slot located on the chassis, and also there is enhanced Bluetooth technology for wireless file transfers to and from friends.

The X10 benefits from the Google based WebKit browser supplied by the Android OS and it delivers a powerful set of web connection tools with both Wi Fi and 3G supported to the highest degree. The web browser offers a very good user experience with its pinch and zoom functionality and ability to render even the busiest web pages with relative ease, you can set bookmarks and favourites for quick access to important sites and there are direct news updates to keep you in the know. Along with the phones web connectivity comes the X10′s e-mail compatibility, multiple e-mail accounts can be handled at any one time with full management and inbox overview.

All in all the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is a wonderful phone with a bright future in the Android Smartphone Market; it is a high performance device with superior connectivity and entertainment facilities and it gives its user full use of the Android Market for additional applications and themes. The Xperia X10 is beautiful, comfortable, and most certainly buyable. I want one!
