how to tell if an android app uses text messaging (facebook, twitter, etc)?

I don’t have text messaging but I do have unlimited data for my droid x. How can I tell if an app would use text messages? I would like to try some facebook apps but am nervous if it might send me a bunch of text messages (I’ve heard some of them use text messaging for those who don’t have data plan).

Try the official twitter and facebook for android. They only use internet not the text messages. Yeah.. If you activate mobile texts as an option then it uses you text services.
