Can you uninstall preloaded apps on android phones?

I have a MyTouch 3G Slide and there’s stuff on it I’ve never used or will use,
Like the barcode app, stocks, twitter, etc.
Any way I can remove unwanted apps?

    No and yes

    No….you cant remove them with your phone the way it is

    Yes…….you can remove the apps but you need to root your phone first. Which if messed up will brick your phone. To read up on the rooting thing check out the forums at xda-developers.com

    root your device.this will give you administrative powers over the OS.can remove any pre-loaded apps.but be careful before rooting,backup data.many sites to get good info, like android -forum.also see the link in source.
